On April 21st, Onward NRV hosted their Spring Tech/IT and Manufacturing Leaders’ Summits, two events focused on bringing together regional industry leaders to learn, connect, and move their industries forward.
Both summits were intentionally built around roundtable discussions, emphasizing best-practice sharing, navigating challenges, and exploring opportunities together. The format gave attendees dedicated time for candid, small-group discussions with fellow industry professionals. Each table was equipped with discussion questions and a table leader to help guide the conversation.
To kick off the morning, leaders gathered at Hyatt Place Blacksburg/University for the Tech/IT Leaders’ Summit. Over breakfast, attendees explored the topic “Navigating AI’s Impact.” The conversation focused on the benefits and challenges of AI adoption, with attendees rotating through two small-group roundtables covering workforce and talent, operational integration, security and risk management, AI leadership, and future industry outlook.
Later that afternoon, manufacturing leaders convened at Inorganic Ventures in Christiansburg for an exclusive presentation and facility tour. The summit’s roundtable session, “Tariff Talk,” brought regional manufacturers together to share experiences and perspectives on navigating today’s evolving economic landscape. Attendees shared the challenges they’re facing, as well as the partnerships and resources helping them move forward.
A clear theme emerged across both summits: regional collaboration is key to navigating the challenges of today and those ahead. Onward NRV is proud to serve as a catalyst for those conversations, connecting leaders and fostering partnerships that strengthen industries across the New River Valley.
