Onward Represents the NRV at 2024 SelectUSA Investment Summit

Onward New River Valley recently traveled to the Washington, D.C. area to exhibit at the 10th Annual SelectUSA Investment Summit, the premier event dedicated to promoting foreign direct investment in the United States. Coordinated by the U.S. Department of Commerce, the summit connects companies from all over the world with economic development agencies from across the United States. According to the U.S Department of Commerce’s website, the 2024 SelectUSA Investment Summit had over 5,000 attendees spanning 96 international markets. For the first time ever, all 56 states and territories were represented at the event.

During the Investment Summit, Onward NRV promoted Virginia’s New River Valley through a booth in the Exhibition Hall. Onward NRV’s goal for the exhibition was to establish new connections with businesses looking to expand to the United States and to present the New River Valley as an ideal business location. Exhibiting at the summit allowed Onward to effectively market and promote the assets, quality of life, and talent pipeline of Virginia’s New River Valley. The summit provided an opportunity to showcase the region’s strengths and potential, fostering meaningful relationships and opening doors for future collaborations and investments.

Onward NRV Senior Director of Business Engagement Samantha Livesay, Floyd County Community & Economic Development Assistant Director Tabitha Hodge, Montgomery County Economic Development Director Brian Hamilton, and Pulaski County Economic Development Director Micheal Solomon attended the 2024 SelectUSA Investment Summit where they were able to connect with a variety of different organizations. Onward will continue to follow up with these connections and help them see how the NRV is a natural fit for their businesses.
