Onward NRV Showcases the NRV at Local Public School Career Fairs

Onward NRV recently attended CTE career fairs at public schools in Giles County and Pulaski County. The Giles County Career and Job Fair was held at Narrows High School on November 1st, 2023, and the Pulaski County Manufacturing Expo Day was held at the new Pulaski County Middle School on October 27th, 2023.

Both career fairs gave Onward NRV staff the chance to showcase the innovative opportunities in the New River Valley to a younger talent audience. Senior Director of Business Engagement Samantha Livesay and Talent Strategies Coordinator Max Davenport shared with students at Pulaski County Middle School about the benefits of staying in the New River Valley. At the Giles County Career and Job Fair, Samantha was able to ask the students questions about the region and engage them about their future career plans.

The career fairs also provided Onward NRV with the opportunity to spread brand awareness and hand out NRV merchandise to local talent, encouraging them to take pride in their region.

Attending local career fairs for K-12 in the region coincides with Onward NRV’s strategic plan goals to attract and retain talent to support regional growth and to spread brand awareness throughout the NRV.
