Onward New River Valley has officially released its fifth edition of the NRV Talent Newsletter, Roots in the Valley. Designed to increase awareness of local industries and employers, promote internships and job opportunities, and reinforce the New River Valley as a compelling place to build a career, the newsletter is currently being delivered to more than 180 local college students Onward has connected with through career fair visits.
Released quarterly, issues feature an interview with a young professional living and working in the NRV, job search and career advice from local universities, and a spotlight on a regional employer. Together, these sections give students a real-world look at career pathways and life in the New River Valley.
Investors are given the opportunity to participate as a featured employer, offering a direct connection to students already engaged with career opportunities in the New River Valley. Interested companies are encouraged to contact Onward NRV’s Talent and Business Strategies Manager, Laken Blankenship, to learn more.
Onward NRV is also seeking young professionals who are willing to share their personal stories and experiences of life and work in the NRV, adding an authentic voice to each issue.
As the newsletter continues to grow, so does its impact, helping ensure Virginia’s New River Valley remains competitive, connected, and ready for the future. Learn more about Onward’s other talent initiatives here.
