Onward NRV recently hosted their Winter Luncheon at Radford University’s Kyle Hall. Sponsored by Member One: A Division of Virginia Credit Union, the event featured a dynamic panel discussion with regional employers who shared insights on the current state Virginia’s New River Valley’s economy.
The program began with a warm introduction from Onward NRV’s Executive Director Katie Boswell, who welcomed elected officials, board members, investors, and guests to the luncheon. She provided a brief update on Onward NRV’s talent attraction and retention initiatives as well as their business attraction and marketing campaigns.
Following her remarks, Katie introduced event sponsor Tim Rowe of Member One: A Division of Virginia Credit Union. Rowe spoke about their upcoming rebrand and new location opportunities for the company. He also had the honor of introducing the panel moderator, Dr. Donna McCloskey, Radford University Dean of the Davis College of Business and Economics and Professor of Management.

They took time to discuss questions such as workforce challenges, the company’s ability to grow in the region, global supply chain issues, and barriers to success. The panel discussion wrapped up with a question-and-answer period from the attendees.
