Onward Showcases NRV Experience at Livability Event

On March 26, 2025, Talent Strategies Coordinator Max Davenport shared insights about the NRV Experience internship program at the 11th Annual Livability in Action Regional Exchange, held at German Club Manor in Blacksburg, VA. This annual exchange of information is convened by the NRV Livability Initiative (NRVLI) Leadership Team to highlight the important work and collaborative partnerships that are addressing some of the region’s most pressing challenges.

During the event, Max presented the NRV Experience internship program as part of the lightning round of presentations, which featured impactful regional projects in fields such as housing, food insecurity, support for early educators, and restoration of the New River. His presentation highlighted how the program connects young professionals with the local culture of the NRV, fostering talent retention and workforce development in Virginia’s New River Valley.

Following the presentation, Max participated in a Q&A session, engaging with attendees eager to learn more about the program’s success in retaining talent in the region.

The NRV Livability Initiative is a program spearheaded by The Community Foundation of the New River Valley to help citizens build a collective vision for the future of the NRV in areas such as housing, transportation, agriculture and food systems, land use, energy, cultural heritage and more.
