Onward NRV Welcomes Rachel Johnson as Marketing Manager

Katie Boswell, Executive Director of Onward New River Valley, has announced the appointment of Rachel Johnson to the position of Marketing Manager effective March 27, 2023. Rachel will manage the branding, websites and social media platforms for Virginia’s New River Valley and Onward NRV; promoting the region as a premier destination to live, work and do business while forging marketing related partnerships for the organization.

“We are thrilled to have Rachel join the Onward NRV team,” Boswell said. “She brings a wide variety of skills to her new role as Marketing Manager. She will be an immediate asset to our organization and will be successful at promoting Virginia’s New River Valley as we begin our new five-year economic development strategy.”

Rachel joins Onward NRV from Radford Coffee Company, where she helped start the company and was the General Manager until 2022. While serving at Radford Coffee Company, the business developed into an attraction for the community and became known to many as Radford’s living room.

Rachel has a varied background of management and television, bringing a variety of skills to the team. She was born in Northern Virginia, went to school in Central Virginia and now lives in Radford. While Rachel lived abroad, she continued to return to the New River Valley for all that it had to offer for work, for family, and for the region itself. In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and exploring the area.
