Virginia’s New River Valley recently had the privilege of hosting the Summer Virginia Economic Development Association (VEDA) Membership Meeting at the Inn at Virginia Tech in Montgomery County. Onward NRV was honored to serve as one of the event’s sponsors, and Executive Director Katie Boswell proudly served as the VEDA Summer Membership Meeting Chair.
The two-day gathering centered on the future of energy in Virginia, featuring presentations on nuclear energy, the growing battery industry, and the evolving power grid infrastructure. Attendees also enjoyed valuable networking opportunities, including a reception at The University Club of Virginia Tech and an after-hours gathering at JH Bards Spirit Co., sponsored by Hurt & Proffitt.
Being actively involved in VEDA is essential for Onward NRV’s mission to strengthen economic vitality across the New River Valley. Participation in statewide conversations ensures that our region has a voice in shaping Virginia’s economic future, especially on critical topics like energy, workforce, and infrastructure. By engaging with leaders, policymakers, and industry experts, Onward NRV can advocate for the region’s needs, build strategic partnerships, and stay ahead of emerging trends that impact local businesses and communities.
