Onward NRV Releases Livability Video at Summer Investor Reception

Onward NRV hosted their Summer Investor Reception on Thursday, June 13th at the Eighty-Four in Floyd County. The event was sponsored by Citizens Telephone Cooperative of Floyd County. They are a regional full-service communications provider offering land-line telephone, web and e-mail hosting, DSL, and fiber to the premises (FTTP). Citizens serves 12 counties and 3 cities in Southwest Virginia.

Samantha Livesay, Senior Director of Business Engagement, welcomed elected officials, board members, investors, and guests to the event. Citizens’ EVP, Customer Relations & Marketing Lori Saltus talked about their products for both personal and commercial use. She shared a video showcasing Citizens’ commitment to provide quality service, excellent support, and advanced technology.

Executive Director of Onward NRV Katie Boswell welcomed Red Rooster Co-Owner Haden Polseno-Hensley to the podium as the evening’s guest speaker. Haden spoke about Red Rooster’s origins and how they have become nationally recognized for the quality of their coffee. He highlighted the benefits of having a business in Floyd County and how that has added to the value of their product.

Katie then updated investors on the NRV Experience, Onward’s summer intern program. She followed her update with the release of a new Virginia’s New River Valley video that targets young professionals. The “Find Your Place in Virginia’s New River Valley” video speaks to the affordable living, safe neighborhoods, and access to arts and culture in the NRV. The video will be used in digital marketing campaigns to attract talent and businesses to the region. Katie also encouraged attendees to register for the upcoming annual dinner on September 12th.
