Onward NRV was proud to participate in Radford University’s 2025 Innovation Challenge (INNO25) on May 2, where Senior Director of Business Engagement Samantha Livesay joined a panel of community leaders to serve as a judge. The event featured 14 student teams from the university’s entrepreneurship program, each presenting a five- to six-minute pitch in a Shark Tank-style format.
Judges evaluated each presentation using a structured rubric and engaged the student entrepreneurs with follow-up questions aimed at refining their ideas and encouraging next steps. The challenge highlighted a wide range of innovative and viable business concepts, demonstrating the strong entrepreneurial talent being cultivated within the New River Valley.
Onward NRV was honored to be part of this initiative, helping to foster meaningful connections between emerging student entrepreneurs and the regional business community. This type of engagement aligns with Onward NRV’s mission to drive economic development by supporting talent, innovation, and collaboration across Virginia’s New River Valley.
