Onward NRV Participates in 2024 NRCC Career Fair

Onward New River Valley participated in the annual NRV Job Fair hosted by New River Community College (NRCC) on April 3, 2024. The event was a success for Onward NRV, providing an opportunity to directly engage with the thriving ecosystem of local employers and talent within the region. One of the most encouraging aspects of the event was the overwhelming presence of local employers who are actively tapping into the rich pool of talent emerging from the community college.

Senior Director of Business Engagement Samantha Livesay and Talent Strategies Coordinator Max Davenport experienced significant foot traffic and a high level of engagement from attendees ranging from NRCC students to representatives from local businesses. This event was an excellent opportunity to promote regional employers and career opportunities available through Virginia’s New River Valley Job Board.

In addition to informative discussions, Max was thrilled to distribute regional branded swag items such as t-shirts, trucker hats, and stickers. These branded items not only serve as tokens of appreciation for visitors, but also play a crucial role in increasing brand awareness of Virginia’s New River Valley.

Onward NRV is committed to helping attract and retain talent in Virginia’s New River Valley. As part of their Onward 2028 strategic plan, Onward NRV regularly attends career fairs at New River Community College, Radford University , and Virginia Tech.
