Onward NRV hosted their investors at New River Community College for the 2023 Winter Investor Luncheon Thursday, December 14th. The event was sponsored by Freedom First Credit Union (FFCU).
Executive Director Katie Boswell welcomed elected officials, board members, investors, and guests to the luncheon. Spencer Lowry of Freedom First Credit Union spoke about FFCU’s mission and vision as well as their commitment to the communities they serve.
Boswell then updated the investors about recent career fairs attended by Onward NRV staff and gave the results of the Fall 2023 digital marketing talent campaigns that were designed to promote job openings and in-demand careers in the targeted industries of manufacturing and technology.
After the Onward NRV update, Boswell welcomed a panel of leaders from across the New River Valley to give the investors the chance to hear about the state of the region. The panelists included Floyd County Administrator Linda Millsaps, Giles County Tourism Director & Economic Development Coordinator Cora Gnegy, Montgomery County Deputy County Administrator Chris Lawrence, Pulaski County Economic Development Director Michael Solomon, and the City of Radford City Manager David Ridpath. Each panelist had the opportunity to update investors on successes and challenges that their community is facing.
