Onward NRV Hosts Inaugural Spring Investor Breakfast
On Thursday, March 20th, Onward NRV welcomed investors to Warm Hearth Village for the organization’s inaugural Spring Investor Breakfast. The event featured Virginia Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Trade Maggie Beal and brought together nearly 70 investors and community leaders.
Executive Director Katie Boswell kicked off the event by welcoming attendees and expressing gratitude to elected officials, board members, and investors for their support. She then provided a brief update on Onward NRV’s recent initiatives and accomplishments. Following the update, Katie introduced Lyndsi Hale, Vice President of Sales at Mountain Lake Lodge, the event’s sponsor. Lyndsi highlighted the amenities and outdoor recreation opportunities available at Mountain Lake Lodge, encouraging attendees to visit. She also spoke about the lodge’s role in the iconic movie Dirty Dancing before introducing the keynote speaker, Deputy Secretary Maggie Beal.
In her address, Deputy Secretary Beal discussed state-level efforts to drive job growth, address housing needs, and support disaster recovery initiatives. Following her presentation, she engaged with attendees in a Q&A session, covering topics such as local housing challenges, trade tariffs, and strategies for enhancing long-term communication between elected officials.
