Onward NRV Highlights Strategic Goal at Local Employer Munch and Learn

Onward NRV shared their Onward 2028 strategic goal of talent attraction and retention with regional businesses at the Virginia Tech Local Employer Munch and Learn on August 2, 2023. The Virginia Tech event series, sponsored by the Career and Professional Development department, allows for local thought leaders to gain insight and knowledge about a variety of topics throughout the year.

Director of Business Engagement Samantha Livesay’s presentation highlighted Onward’s partnership with both higher education and the K-12th grades to 25 registered attendees. She also shared about the NRV Experience program and how local employers could enroll their summer interns in next year’s cohort. Onward NRV’s five-year strategic plan highlights the necessity of attracting and retaining talent to support regional growth in the NRV.

Speaking at events like the Local Employer Munch and Learn helps to strengthen the connectedness of the region and allows for Onward NRV to build partnerships in the New River Valley by raising awareness of the organization’s mission and five-year strategy.
