Biannual IT Summit Discusses Tech Talent and Housing

Onward NRV hosted the third information technology leader’s summit with industry leaders from the New River Valley.

This summit focused on Onward NRV’s technology initiatives and upcoming housing projects from local developers. As part of the Onward 2023 Strategic Plan, Onward NRV launched two videos that showcase the in demand technology careers in the NRV as well as the unique culture within the technology companies here. In addition to these videos, Onward NRV will be strategically supporting company efforts to recruit mid-level talent to the NRV through digital marketing campaigns. After meeting with several HR Directors from local technology companies, our messaging will address the needs of this audience such as commute times, safe cities, and more time with families, in addition to connecting them with the variety of tech jobs available here.

Four housing developers from the NRV also shared the projects they are working on in order to address the housing needs of technology companies and the region.

Through these projects alone, the region could see a couple thousand new housing options in the next few years between apartments, townhouses, single family homes, and estate homes. Their goal to is to provide a variety of options for those looking to live in the New River Valley.
