Onward NRV Connects with Students at NRCC Job Fair Expo

On April 2, Onward New River Valley participated in the New River Valley Job Fair Expo hosted at New River Community College. The event brought together students, job seekers, and employers from across the region, creating a dynamic space to explore local career opportunities and promote the livability of Virginia’s New River Valley.

Senior Director of Business Engagement Samantha Livesay and Talent Strategies Coordinator Max Davenport represented Onward NRV, engaging with students actively pursuing internships and job opportunities in the area. They shared insights into the region’s diverse industries and encouraged attendees to explore current listings on Virginia’s New River Valley job board.

To add a fun and interactive element to the experience, Samantha and Max brought the fan-favorite “spin-it-to-win-it” wheel, which tested students’ knowledge of the NRV. Participants walked away with popular NRV-branded swag like t-shirts, trucker hats, stickers, and water bottles.

Onward NRV’s participation in events like the New River Valley Job Fair Expo is part of its ongoing talent attraction strategy, which includes regular involvement in career fairs at New River Community College, Radford University, and Virginia Tech. These efforts help connect emerging talent with local opportunities and support the continued growth of the region.
