Marketing to Site Consultants in Dallas
At the end of last month, Executive Director Charlie Jewell traveled to Dallas, TX to market to site consultants who help businesses select where to expand or relocate.
The trip was in conjunction with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, who facilitated a new program that mirrored speed dating. This allowed each of the participating regional groups to have intentional conversations with every site consultant in just one day.
Ashlyn Shrewsbury, Economic Development Project Manager for Montgomery County, attended as a local representative.
Over the course of the event Charlie and Ashlyn were able to connect with 18 site consultants to discuss why Virginia’s New River Valley is a great place to live, work, and do business. Outbound marketing aims to stimulate job growth and investment in the region and help further the NRV’s reputation as a hub for our four targeted industries. Proactively connecting with site consultants helps the region be top of mind when it comes to businesses looking for new locations.
The consultants received marketing materials including booklets featuring an overview of each region and gifts from each region.
Onward gave a Virginia’s New River Valley wooden box that featured information about the region, a bag of Red Rooster Coffee, and the Forbes article that named Red Rooster a top coffee roaster. The gift helps tell the story of the NRV and highlights a fun livability asset in the region. Site consultants can take the gift home and enjoy a taste of the NRV all week long.
Onward NRV: Onward NRV is a public/private, regional economic development organization whose mission is to attract and retain world class jobs, investment, and talent in Virginia’s New River Valley. It’s also a movement where leaders from business, government, and higher education work together to promote the economic vitality of the region.
