Summer Reception Recap
Onward NRV set another summer attendance record with 84 registrants at the Onward Summer quarterly event last week! The event, which is usually a luncheon, changed formats to an evening reception that highlighted Food Processing and Agribusiness in Virginia’s New River Valley. Held at the Pete Dye River Course in Fairlawn, representatives from Bufffalo Mountain Kombucha, Whitebarrel Winery, and Rising Silo Brewery brought beverages and spoke about their products. The event was sponsored by Waldvogel Commercial Properties, an Onward NRV investor.
The quarterly events are a great way to stay up-to-date on what’s happening in Virginia’s New River Valley and at Onward. They’ve also become a great networking opportunity for our investors and guests.
The program featured a welcome from Board Chairman Ed Lawhorn and an Onward 2023 campaign update from Dr. John Dooley. Executive Director Charlie Jewell also gave a short update and explained the future of Food Processing and Agribusiness in the NRV. The speakers included Cassie and Scott Pierce (Buffalo Mountain Kombucha), Greg Zielski (Rising Silo), and Dr. Richard Obiso (Whitebarrel).
Missed the reception? Join us at our next quarterly event, the 2019 Annual Dinner. Stay tuned for more information. Sponsorship for the Annual Dinner is still available. Contact james@onwardnrv.org for more information.
Thank you to all who attended the Summer event. A special thank you to the event sponsor, Waldvogel Commercial Properties.
