Onward NRV Posters Promote Tech and Manufacturing Jobs to Students

Onward New River Valley recently created posters to promote tech and manufacturing jobs to students throughout the region. Onward NRV staff collaborated with the team at New River Community College (NRCC) as well as Career and Technical Education directors from the Floyd County, Giles County, Montgomery County, Pulaski County, and City of Radford school systems to distribute the posters around the region. They are now on display across the NRV at middle schools, high schools, and NRCC.

Each of the posters feature QR codes that students can scan with teacher permission on their phones or other devices. The QR code leads students to TheNRV.org, where they can watch videos promoting tech and manufacturing jobs in the region.

This poster project is an initiative from Onward 2023, Onward NRV’s five-year economic development strategy for the region, designed to attract and retain talent to support regional growth. Promoting in-demand careers to local students is one way that Onward NRV works to retain talent in the region.
