Onward NRV Partnered with VT PRISM to Connect Students and Employers

Onward NRV partnered with Virginia Tech PRISM, a student marketing organization, to bring local employers on campus to promote their internship and job opportunities.

The event took place in the Pamplin College of Business Atrium and mimicked a mini-career fair. The goal was to help companies who have signed up for the NRV Experience Summer 2020 Internship consortium, connect with students in order to fill their internship positions as well as any potential job openings.

Overall, 41 students checked in and engaged with the four companies who participated: Ozmo, ACI, Kollmorgen, and block.one. Each company said they had quality conversations with students and felt that they found at least one, if not more, potential candidate(s) for their internship positions; one company even lined up a full-time position interview for a student the next day.

This partnership and outreach is part of our Onward 2023 Strategic Plan and aligns directly with our goal of attracting and retaining talent in the New River Valley, specific to our targeted industries.
