Onward Attends Radford University Fall Career Expo

Onward New River Valley recently participated in the Fall Career Expo hosted by Radford University’s Center for Career and Talent Development. With a record-breaking attendance rate by Radford University students, Onward NRV was able to promote the endless career opportunities available as well as the livability of Virginia’s New River Valley to a large pool of talent.

Senior Director of Business Engagement Samantha Livesay and Talent Strategies Coordinator Max Davenport were able to capture the interest of students who are actively seeking local internship and career opportunities in the NRV. During their conversations, they learned about the students’ long-term career aspirations and encouraged them to visit Virginia’s New River Valley job board.

Beyond learning about the students’ career interests, Samantha and Max were able to test the students’ knowledge of the NRV region using the “spin-it-to-win-it” wheel. Students were able to receive highly coveted NRV-branded swag items such as t-shirts, trucker hats, stickers, and water bottles.

Onward NRV consistently participates in career fairs at New River Community College, Radford University, and Virginia Tech as part of its strategic effort to attract and retain talent, fueling regional growth.
