Onward New River Valley officially closed out the 2025 NRV Experience with a special event at Long Way Brewing in Radford on July 31. The celebration brought together interns and employers from this year’s cohort to mark the end of an impactful summer. The evening offered interns the opportunity to network with their employers, local young professional groups, and Onward NRV investors. It was a chance to reflect on the experiences shared over the past eight weeks and celebrate the connections made.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates to interns who attended at least five of the seven NRV Experience excursions throughout the summer. Onward NRV awarded 27 certificates of completion.
The NRV Experience is a unique, eight-week summer program designed to complement employer internship offerings by helping interns develop professionally while experiencing the many benefits of living and working in Virginia’s New River Valley. The program is a key initiative of Onward NRV’s five-year economic development strategy and aims to increase the number of young professionals who choose to live and work in the region after graduation.
Through curated events that showcase the NRV’s cultural, recreational, and outdoor amenities, the NRV Experience gives participants a firsthand look at why the region is A Natural Fit for launching their careers and building a life.
